Wallace Meyaski Attorneys Present Estate Planning Panel Discussion on Assisted Reproductive Technology

Wallace Meyaski attorneys Stacey L. Meyaski(Founder/Partner) and Professor Monica Hof Wallace (Of Counsel) closed out the 54th Annual Estate Planning Conference sponsored by LSU on October 18, 2024, with a panel discussion entitled Assisted ReproductiveTechnology (ART): What Should I Know?  On the final afternoon of the two-day CLE event for practitioners and judges from across the state, Ms. Meyaski and Ms. Wallace reviewed the laws in Louisiana that govern the use and application of assisted reproductive technology and address cases that consider the donation of gametes and embryos, as well as proposed legislation to amend the Human Embryo Statute. The speakers also presented a series of recommendations to consider when dealing with clients using assisted reproduction and in assessing the implications of ART on their clients’ estate planning needs. 

 

Ms. Meyaski leads the firm's Estate Planning and ART sections while Professor Wallace, the Dean Marcel Garsaud, Jr.Distinguished Professor of Law at Loyola University College of Law, supports those sections as of counsel.
